Fall Update Comes To Animal Crossing: New Horizons
On September 30, Nintendo will be rolling out a free update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with a new Halloween-themed event and more additions that fit in with the fall season.
One of the update's new features is growing your own pumpkin patch all year long. Once the pumpkins are grown, you can harvest them to create unique DIY recipes that will also be included in the update.
Throughout the entire month of October, you can prepare for Halloween night by buying candy from Nook's Cranny to give to your villagers, buying costumes for your player character in Able Sisters' Shop, and using Nook Miles to buy body paint and colored contacts to make your costume really stand out.
This, of course, comes to a head on the Halloween Night Celebration described by Nintendo.
"When Halloween night arrives on Oct. 31, after 5 p.m., neighbors will gather in the plaza, which will be adorned with an array of Halloween decorations. You’ll also receive a visit from a mysterious guest, Jack, the “czar of Halloween.” By giving Jack lollipops and candy, you’ll earn spooky in-game rewards. Be sure to save some candy for your neighbors, too, or you might get pranked! Luckily, you can learn a couple of new Reactions to properly express your feelings of fear," Nintendo said in their official blog post.
This update also updates the ability to take a nap and visit other islands within dreams, which was introduced this summer. Now, you can revisit islands you've been to with a simple list. In early October, the NookLink app will also be updated, allowing you to perform reactions in-game from a tap of your smart device.
This new update rolls out on September 30, and it has been confirmed the next free update will be in Late November. This update will most likely introduce the Harvest Festival and Toy Day events to the game, as the promotional video used the NPCs for those events, Franklin and Jingle, respectively, to advertise the late November update.
